Drew McIntyre has re-signed with WWE, and a new report provides more information on the situation.

On April 27, The Rock took to Instagram to announce that Drew McIntyre had re-signed with WWE. The former WWE Champion’s contract had been set to expire within a few weeks.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that WWE reached out to McIntyre to extend his deal in March, and the two sides recently finalized the agreement. Per Sap, there was a lot of back and forth, and McIntyre was happy with the outcome. The report notes that McIntyre’s contract is said to be a “multi-year, big money deal,” and other superstars with expiring deals are expected to be finished or announced.

Drew McIntyre Set To Take Some Time To Recover

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Drew McIntyre will not be back on television immediately. He is still recovering from a badly hyperextended elbow. McIntyre worked through the injury through WWE’s tour in the United Kingdom.

As for his new deal, Johnson notes that the two sides agreed to terms within the last week. The report notes that the video The Rock posted was shot in advance so that WWE would have something ready once the deal was complete. Johnson also wrote that the deal is a multi-year agreement.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
