A new report provides more information about WWE star Shayna Baszler competing at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport X.
On March 15, Josh Barnett announced that Shayna Baszler would make her GCW debut at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport X on April 4. This came as a major shift, as WWE stars have rarely worked independent shows in recent years. The announcement also surprised fans, as AEW talent is on the Bloodsport card.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that multiple WWE talent were set to compete at the Bloodsport event. He writes that Josh Barnett previously asked about Jessamyn Duke working Bloodsport while she was with WWE. However, the company was not open to it.
Sapp then cites WWE sources who noted that Triple H and Barnett have known each other for years, and Barnett personally requested Baszler for this year’s show. The report also notes that WWE sources shot down the rumors about the company working with GCW. That being said, they noted that there was nothing “contentious” between the two of them.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
