The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) have signed with WWE.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported the news and wrote that several WWE sources confirmed the news on Friday night.
Per Johnson, the current plan is for the Motor City Machine Guns to debut by the NXT on CW Network premiere on October 1, if not before.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) also reported the signing after Pro Wrestling Nexus broke the news. Sapp wrote that, months ago, AEW sources said that the duo had not been signed, and they were not in the company’s plans, though there had been some pitches.
Sabin and Shelley are two of the top stars in TNA history. They held the tag team titles three times, and Sabin is a 10-time TNA X-Division Champion. Shelley also held the X-Division Championship, and both men won the world title as well. They have also held the tag titles in NJPW and ROH, among other promotions.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
