Rey Fenix has been removed from AEW‘s roster page.
Fenix’s status with AEW has been unclear in recent months. He has not wrestled for the company since July 2024. In since-deleted tweets, he wrote that no one stayed in a place where they received “inhumane treatment”, and he claimed that he needed a doctor but didn’t get one. Fenix was widely expected to head to WWE in 2024, but injury time was added to his contract.
In an update, Fenix is no longer listed on AEW’s official roster page.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Rey Fenix is now a free agent and writes that it’s “all but certain” that he is WWE-bound.
Rey Fenix had been with AEW since 2019, and he teamed up with his brother, Penta El Zero Miedo. During his time with AEW, he held the AEW and ROH tag team titles. Fenix, Penta, and PAC held the AEW World Trios Championship as well. Fenix also won the AEW International Championship. Penta left AEW in December 2024 and signed with WWE. He made his WWE debut in January.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
