Rey Mysterio is no stranger to being betrayed in the ring. The legend has attributed this pattern to simply being too nice of a guy.

Over the years, Rey Mysterio has been betrayed by Batista, Santos Escobar, Dominik Mysterio, and Carlito.

Speaking to Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report, Mysterio opened up about his history of being betrayed.

“I’m too friendly with people and because I don’t know how to get mad and I can’t be the bad guy, even at home,” Rey Mysterio said. “My wife sometimes will tell me, ‘You have to show them a little bit more attitude.’ I’m just so chill. I’m so relaxed. I can’t change that character I’ve been for so many years, my whole life. I always end up trusting the wrong people and that’s my problem. Maybe one day I’ll just snap and go crazy.”

Rey Mysterio On Dominik Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero

Rey Mysterio recently discussed the similarities between Dominik Mysterio and the late, great Eddie Guerrero. Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Rey noted that he thought Guerrero had been in Dominik’s corner from the start.

“I have to say this, and my wife is gonna kill me, but I’ve told her several times, ‘Did you ever cheat on me with Eddie?’ Because, Dom, I don’t know. She goes, ‘Yeah,’ and I never told you. I said, ‘No, no!’. I truly believe that Eddie is getting a kick out of this and, to a certain degree, Eddie has been in Dominik’s corner from the beginning.”

“It’s very special and sentimental to see my son’s growth and to see every now and then a little bit of Eddie in his character, his development, and the way he carries himself. There’s a lot of pride when I see him, and it reminds me so much of moments I lived with Eddie myself. Just watching him work—there’s no comparison, I’m just talking about little snippets and stuff he does that is just so Eddie-like. It could be as simple as the mullet. Sometimes, when I see pictures of him, it’s just like, ‘Wow, it’s just scary.'”
