Pro wrestling is all about locking down your gimmick, but sometimes a moniker may fit better with a different person. This seems to be the case for Scott Steiner and Rikishi when you really boil things down.

During his time in WCW, Scott Steiner adopted the moniker “The Big Bad Booty Daddy” to highlight the number of “freaks” he had around him. He carried this title with him into WWE in 2003. Meanwhile, in WWE, Rikishi’s gimmick focused on his rear end. His use of the Banzai Drop as a finisher and the Stink Face were huge parts of his on-screen persona.

Speaking on the most recent episode of his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi expressed his thoughts on the name. He had to wonder why he didn’t think of that nickname first.

“I thought it was over. Man, I was like, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ But I think we still kind of got the same vibe. I represent all the biggens. All them big bad booty apple bottoms out there, we not bodybuilders, but we still…like the natural. Not saying that Scotty wasn’t, but you know what I mean? When you look at Scotty, tell me what fitness chick would not want to lay up with Big Bad Booty Man? His body’s built like a women’s pet. Peaks and freaks and goodbye.”

Rikishi and Scott Steiner faced each other in a tag team match at WrestleMania IX, where The Steiner Brothers defeated The Headshrinkers in the second match of the main card. A lot of things have changed since then, but both men are still living up to that nickname of Big Bad Booty Daddy, no matter who locked it down first.

Pro wrestling fans may have to argue who really deserves the namesake of Big Bad Booty Daddy at the end of the day. After all, there are two strong contenders between Rikishi and Scott Steiner.

We will keep our eye on this story, and so much more in the pro wrestling world. Stay tuned with us here at Ringside News for more.
