Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s camp has made an early gain over the camp of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over the control of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State.
This followed the decision of the party to review the controversial list of Caretaker Committee members in the state. Governor Fubara’s camp had frowned at the people that made up the list alleging that key loyalists of Wike dominated it.
This prompted Governor Fubara to douse the tension in his reaction vowing to push against the list at the national level to ensure that the list is reviewed.
Speaking to reporters after the National Caucus meeting in the early hours of Thursday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba revealed that the National Caucus instructed the NWC to review the list of the Rivers State Caretaker Committee.
Ologunagba said, “The issue of Rivers State Caretaker Committee List was raised at the meeting, and it was resolved that a political solution should be applied to resolve all the issues related thereto.”
