Ronaldo, the big worry

Having left for exile in Saudi Arabia a little over a year ago, Cristiano Ronaldo sees his lease end on June 30, 2025. And a possible departure of CR7 on this date makes his club Al-Nassr fear the worst.

After terminating his contract with Manchester United on the sidelines of the 2022 World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo decided, against all odds, to head to Saudi Arabia, where he signed up with the Al-Nassr club . A choice necessarily partly dictated by money, which would receive no less than 200 million euros per year.

It must also be said that the five-time Ballon d’Or is very profitable for Al-Nassr, who can negotiate his contracts upwards with the presence of CR7 in his squad. Not to mention that the former Madrilenian fills the stadiums and is an ideal ambassador for the extremely wealthy oil country. Especially since the latter needs headliners to promote the next major sporting events that it will host on its territory, like 2027 Asian Cup and the 2034 World Cup.

Big shortfall in sight for Al-Nassr

So many elements that make Al-Nassr fear the worst… Indeed, the Saudi club already fears the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is under contract until June 2025, and the financial losses that it will cause, according to Goal Arabia. However, the leaders of the second-placed Saudi Pro League remain hopeful of keeping the Lusitanian star beyond his current lease.

Al-Nassr decision-makers are banking on Ronaldo’s desire to participate in the 2026 World Cup to offer him the opportunity to return. But everything will depend of the famous number 7, who has already expressed his desire to invest in shares of the club after hanging up his boots.
