This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to reports from Monthly Puroresu, who covers NJPW news and conducts interviews with Japanese talent, along with Wrestling News, Kazuchika Okada will be heading to WWE once his contract with NJPW expires in the near future.
Okada has had interest from WWE in the past but has also appeared on AEW television. The report states that if he heads to WWE, he could start in NXT.
“Although we’re unable to verify with The Rainmaker himself, one source close to NJPW’s top talent has indicated to Monthly Puroresu that it appears Okada is WWE bound, potentially starting in NXT first.” https://t.co/mED7XTkLdR

Okada has been a fixture in NJPW since his debut in 2007. He is one-third of the current NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions, a five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, with his fourth reign being the longest in history at 720 days. After the title was unified into the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Okada went on to hold the new championship a record two times.
Editor’s Opinion:
This comes as a compelte shock to me, as I figure Tony Khan would spend exhorbitant amounts of money to get this guy. He is one of the most well known and talented superstars in the world, and I figured he would connect more with the AEW audience. That being said, he could do great things in WWE as well, so we will see how this plays out!
