Salman Khan firing case: Actor questioned for 3 hours, reveals waking up to gunshots

On April 14, two bike-borne men opened fire outside the Galaxy Apartments residence of actor Salman Khan. For the last two months, the Mumbai Crime Branch has been investigating the shooting incident and now there’s a new update. As per recent media reports, Salman and his brother, actor Arbaaz Khan, were interrogated by a four-member team at the start of the month. Read on to know the details.

Salman Khan questioned in house firing case

As reported by NDTV, a four-member team, including an officer of the Mumbai Crime Branch, visited Salman Khan’s house on June 4, and recorded the statements of Salman and his brother, actor Arbaaz Khan. The duo were reportedly questioned for six hours. As the article, the ‘Tiger 3’ actor’s statement was recorded for three hours while the ‘Fashion’ actor was questioned for two hours. Reportedly, the duo were asked over 150 questions.

The actors’ father, screenplay writer Salim Khan’s statement was not recorded due to his age. However, sources reveal the crime branch will record his statement if required.

During the interrogation, Salman Khan reportedly thanked the police for their help and said that he realised his life was in danger. Khan told the police that he had slept late after attending a party the night before the incident. He said in his statement that he woke up to the sound of a bullet. This bullet was later found to have hit his balcony. The actor added that after he was jolted awake, he went to the balcony to check. But when he looked outside, he didn’t see anyone.

Arbaaz Khan, who was at his Juhu residence at the time of the firing, stated that he was aware of the past threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to his brother.

On April 14, two bike-borne men opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence in Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra. The shooters – Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal – were soon arrested from Gujarat. Days later, Anuj Thapan was arrested from Punjab for his involvement in the shooting. However, Thapan allegedly committed suicide on May 1 inside the toilet while in the custody of Mumbai police’s crime branch. The Bombay HC recently ordered the removal of the actor’s name in the custodial death of the accused case.
