Veteran producer Ramesh Taurani has announced that the script for the fourth instalment of the action crime franchise Race is ready. His production company, Tips Films, is also developing sequels for Soldier and Bhoot Police.
The first two Race films, directed by Abbas-Mustan, starred Saif Ali Khan, with Akshaye Khanna and John Abraham playing the villains in the first and second instalments, respectively. The third part, directed by Remo D’Souza, starred Salman Khan, with Bobby Deol as the antagonist.

Taurani revealed, “The script is ready for the next ‘Race’ instalment. We will announce the casting of the film soon. The cast will be new. I can’t comment on whether Salman Khan will be part of it or not. It will go on floors by the end of the year. It’s not decided yet who will direct it,” he told PTI in an interview.
Produced by Tips Films, Race was first released in 2008, and its success led to a 2013 sequel. The third part, which hit theatres in 2018, performed well at the box office despite receiving negative reviews.
Taurani also mentioned plans for sequels to Bhoot Police and Soldier. He said, “We will also make a sequel to ‘Bhoot Police’ and ‘Soldier’. The official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”
About Soldier and Bhoot Police sequels
The 1998 film Soldier, starring Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta, was one of the highest-grossing films of the year and was directed by Abbas-Mustan. Bhoot Police, a 2021 adventure-horror-comedy featuring Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor, was directed by Pavan Kirpalani.
Taurani also expressed excitement about an upcoming untitled film with actor Varun Dhawan and his director father David Dhawan. “We are doing an entertainer movie with a love story and great music with Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. It will go on floors soon,” said Taurani, adding that they have yet to finalise the female lead for the film.
Taurani highlighted the challenges of making sequels. “The trend of sequels started in 2009-2010 with ‘Race’ and ‘Dhoom’. People started making sequels from thereon. We believe one has to pay more attention to the script when you make a sequel because the original film has a brand value,” he added.
Taurani’s announcements have generated anticipation among fans for the upcoming projects, promising a blend of action, drama, and entertainment.
