Sam Allardyce hoping for an interview to get back into management

Sam Allardyce turns 70 in October but the out of work manager is hoping for one more chance.

The former Newcastle United and Sunderland manager says he is interested in the Wales job and would welcome the chance to be interviewed for it.

Rob Page was sacked after Wales failed to qualify for the 2024 European Championships.

Since 2018, the only two jobs Sam Allardyce has had, saw him relegated with both West Brom and Leeds.

Sam Allardyce talking about a potential return to management with Wales, speaking to No Tippy Tappy Football:

“I’ve had quite a few Welsh coaches and know them quite well.

“You never know if you get on the shortlist for an interview.

“I would always take an interview.

“I wouldn’t turn an interview down.

“You have got a team that has done brilliantly over the last few years… but who are the next generation?

“Where’s the next Gareth Bale?

“Teams like that always have to have one special player.

“With other countries, they have one special player, who can actually make the expectations for the nation greater than what they think, because they can win a game any time.”
