Newly crowned Sendai Girls World Champion Saori Anou wishes to face “The Final Boss” Meiko Satomura in a match for her title.
Former Sendai Girls World Champion and Wonder of Stardom Champion Mika Iwata recently defended her two belts against STARDOM’s Saori Anou at Sendai Girls’ Korakuen Hall show this past July 15th. Despite a tough effort, it was Saori Anou who left with both championships in her possession. Following her victory, Saori Anou spoke to Tokyo Sports for a quick interview to share her thoughts. She said she experienced major pressure in holding two world titles in different companies, and that she is responsible for pushing the industry forward.
However, Saori Anou also made a huge statement by calling out the inaugural Sendai Girls World Champion: Meiko Satomura. “If I continue to defend this belt, maybe I’ll meet Meiko Satomura. Maybe I’ll get to know the Meiko Satomura in the ring. I want to know. The Meiko Satomura who created those Senjo wrestlers,” she says.
Meiko has done plenty of work in Sendai Girls as she is also a co-founder of the promotion. While she is believed to be under contract with WWE, she has wrestled for Kenta Kobashi’s produce show this past June 12th since taking the time off. Meiko will also compete in WWE’s tour in Japan later this month.
WWE has recently given their talent permission to compete in outside promotions, so a match between Meiko Satomura and Saori Anou may not be too far from impossible in the near future. What are your thoughts on a potential battle between the two?
