To showcase the abilities of these new AI services, Semiotic Labs has released a public demo of Agentc, a ChatGPT-inspired tool built on The Graph’s Uniswap data.

Semiotic Labs, a team of developers, has introduced two new artificial intelligence (AI) services poised to expand the data services of The Graph ecosystem. In a whitepaper released, the developing group unveiled the latest innovations: Inference and Agent services.

Inference Service: Hosting AI Models on The Graph’s Decentralized Infrastructure

The Inference Service allows developers to host AI models on The Graph’s decentralized and efficient infrastructure. By leveraging the protocol’s marketplace of indexers, developers can be assured of a reliable and robust system. With this provided service, builders can directly integrate AI capabilities similar to ChatGPT features into their decentralized applications. According to the white paper released, the team stated:

“The Inference Service will be used to build decentralized AI applications. We expect that some AI dapps will be decentralized versions of centralized applications, e.g., decentralized clones of ChatGPT, and some AI dapps will be web3-native and use blockchain data queried from The Graph.”

Agent Service: Enabling Autonomous and AI-Powered Decentralized Applications

The other solution released, Agent Service, is distinct from the inference service as it goes beyond just hosting AI models and focuses on enabling developers to create decentralized applications (dApps) that are not only AI-powered but also autonomous. This development means that dApps can operate or make decisions independently without direct human intervention.

The team behind the innovation further describes Agent Service as operating like the brain’s robotic assistant, stating that this AI agent has the knowledge of its environment and the ability to take actions on its own. The whitepaper revealed:

“The Agent Service acts as the brain’s robotic assistant. AI agents are autonomous systems that have knowledge of their environment and can take actions, such as executing programs, calling external APIs, keeping a memory of past interactions, and facilitating blockchain interactions.”

Agentc: A ChatGPT-inspired Demo Showcasing The Graph’s AI Capabilities

To showcase the abilities of these new AI Services, Semiotic Labs has released a public demo of Agentc, a ChatGPT-inspired tool built on The Graph’s Uniswap data. This demo is available for two weeks, during which users can explore the features and potentials of The Graph as an AI infrastructure. Also, developers are encouraged to give feedback on what they perceive about the new development.

Thus, after the public demo is completed, the Semiotic team will open-source the codebase for Agentc, allowing developers to use the code for further innovations across the ecosystem.

This latest development by The Graph is another milestone for the decentralized protocol, launched in 2018. Several developers have been able to build subgraphs for decentralized applications across 50 blockchains, and now, with the introduction of its new AI Services, the Web3 protocol is poised to usher in a new era of decentralized AI innovation.

As it expands its scope beyond data indexing and into decentralized AI by using its extensive data and deep infrastructure, the Web 3 protocol is set to become a bedrock upon which the next generation of AI-powered Web 3 applications will be built.
