Shannon LeVangie has that brat energy.
While they were once sworn enemies, Shannon LeVangie and Paris Van Dale have since joined forces to form one of the northeast’s newest teams. Along with former WOW Women’s Champion Zayda Steel, this team is known as The Bratz. During a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, LeVangie provided some insight into how the trio of herself, Van Dale, and Steel came to be.
“Paris and I have a long history, a history of typically us hating each other. And through that, you kind of build this mutual respect,” LeVangie said. “The amount of times we’ve wrestled each other and hated each other, we can’t argue about the fact that we put on good matches together. So we built that respect. It was one of those things that real recognizes real. If we can create this magic against each other, imagine what we could do with each other.”
“There comes The Bratz — me and Paris. Then Zayda [Steel] was just a girl that we were like ‘Oh, she’s a baddie. She has brat energy.’ So we’re like ‘Alright, that’s the kind of girl that we want on our side’. Then that’s kind of how Zayda came into play. The three of us together, we’re a scary group right there. Y’all aren’t going to stop us. I don’t think I would have ever thought that me and Paris would team up with the amount of times we wrestle each other. I’ve lost count at this point, but sometimes, your worst enemies end up making your best friends.”
Since aligning in late 2023, The Bratz have competed in a handful of matches for the likes of Beyond Wrestling and Limitless Wrestling. Their most recent outing occurred at
Limitless Bitter Taste, where LeVangie and Van Dale faced “The Megasus” Megan Bayne in a two-on-one handicap match.
Origins Of ‘The Bratz’
When asked about the origins of The Bratz, LeVangie revealed that their stable name was a fusion of her persona as “The Troublemaker” and Van Dale’s diva-inspired attitude.
“This was before Zayda had joined, me and Paris were discussing ideas. We were trying to think of something that combines ‘Troublemaker’ and [Van Dale’s tagline of] ‘Always Trending.’ We couldn’t really think of much that came off the tongue easy,” LeVangie said. “Then Paris was like ‘Alright, what about The Bratz?’ A Troublemaker can sometimes be bratty, like you’re getting on someone’s nerves. You’re always poking at them, whatever. “
“Then [with] Paris being this diva, she’s all about herself. It gives off brat energy. She only cares about herself and how great she is. So I feel like without necessarily combining our two characters together, it kind of covers it all for us. The Troublemaker and the diva come together, and I feel like they both give off like brat energy.”
