A couple of days ago, reports began circulating about Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s June wedding. As per the reports, the couple – who have allegedly been dating for several years now, will be tying the knot on June 23 in Mumbai in the presence of close family and friends. The actress’ father, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, was recently asked about the impending marriage. Read on to know what he said.
Shatrughan Sinha on Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal’s rumoured wedding
The ‘Kalicharan’ actor, who is currently in Delhi got candid with Times Now about Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s rumoured upcoming wedding. Revealing that he hasn’t discussed Sonakshi’s wedding plans yet, the veteran actor said, “Main bhi utna hi jaanta hoon jitna media mein maine padha hai (l only know what I’ve read in the news).” He added that whenever Sonakshi tells him and Poonam Sinha about her marriage plans, they will bless the couple. He said, “We wish her all happiness always.”
During the same conversation, Shatrughan Sinha stated that he trusts Sonakshi Sinha’s judgement and is convinced that “she would never make an extra-constitutional or illegal decision.” The ‘Dostana’ actor said, “As a consenting adult, she has the right to make her own decisions.” He also noted that whenever the ‘Dabangg’ actress gets married, he will be “dancing right in front of the baaraat (wedding procession).”
Shatrughan: “Aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke“
The veteran actor also expressed disappointment over not being in the loop about his daughter’s big life decision. He shared that he is being asked by people close to him why he is not aware of her wedding plans, while the media seems to know more about her big day. He stated, “All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain (Nowadays, children don’t seek permission; they simply inform their parents). We are waiting to be informed.”
