Shelton Benjamin feels he has been suppressed over his career so far.

The former WWE star recently debuted in the company alongside former Hurt Business teammates MVP and Bobby Lashley. They quickly made an impact on the company and look to be huge names in the promotion going forward.

Shelton Benjamin joined the rest of the Hurt Syndicate on Close Up with Renee Paquette. He spoke about how he has been underutilized in the past and is finally being given the chance to be himself in AEW.

MVP also jumped in, adding that Shelton Benjamin wasn’t used to his maximum potential in the past. Additionally, he made the point that everyone knows what he can do in the ring and he is now showing it.

Shelton Benjamin: “I definitely feel like, uh, I’ve been suppressed.”

MVP: “Underutilized. Not underestimated, because everybody knows what he’s capable of. He’s done amazing things. Underutilized, yeah. Hasn’t been utilized to his maximum potential.”

Shelton Benjamin: “You know, I’ve been in the business for a little bit, so, uh, I’ve done a few things, and yeah, I’ve definitely felt like here in AEW I’ve had the opportunity to show fans who I really am, what I really can do, and not just me doing what I had to do for the people I was working with previously. I really love that I can really be me here in AEW.”

The Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley will wrestle Swerve Strickland at AEW Full Gear 2024 next week.
