Last month social media was abuzz with reports that actress Aditi Rao Hydari and actor Siddharth had gotten married secretly. However, the reports turned out to be partially true as the couple hadn’t gotten married but engaged on March 27 in the presence of their close family. The lovebirds – who did not make an announcement prior to the private ceremony in Telangana, later shared a picture of their rings on Instagram stating that they were now engaged.
During a recent event, the ‘Rang De Basanti’ actor opened up about their engagement and even revealed who will decide when he and Aditi tie the knot. Read on to know all he shared.
Siddharth On ‘Secret’ Engagement
At a recent event held in Chennai (via Hindustan Times), actor Siddharth was asked about his engagement to actress Aditi Rao Hydari and them being ‘secretive’ about it. Clarifying that it was private and not secret, the actor said, “Many told me we had done this (get engaged) in secret. There’s a big difference between doing something privately with family and in secret. The ones whom we didn’t invite think it’s a secret, but the ones who were there know it was private.”
Wedding Date
During the same interaction, Siddharth was asked about Aditi Rao Hydari said yes to him and how long it took him to get a positive reply. The actor said, “These questions on how long it took (for her to say yes) shouldn’t be asked. The end result must be either yes or no, pass or fail. I was worried whether it would be a yes, luckily, I passed.”
He continued, “The wedding date will depend on the elders (of the family) and what they say. It isn’t like a shooting date I can decide on, it’s a lifetime date. It will happen at the right time once they decide.”
Upcoming Projects
Siddharth will also soon be seen in Shankar’s Indian 2 alongside Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh. The film, which began production in 2019, will release in June this year. Aditi will soon be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s maiden web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The ensemble cast show will release on Netflix on May 1. She will also star in the films Gandhi Talks and Lioness.
