Some of the biggest stars in Saturday Night Live history are together again! Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Seth Meyers, and Bowen Yang hit the stage together to present an award at the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 15) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. While on stage, the stars roasted SNL creator Lorne Michaels for the amount of times he lost at past Emmys. Keep reading to find out more…“We heard something backstage that needs to be addressed,” Maya started. “We heard that our dear friend, our mentor, Lorne Michaels, has been nominated for and lost the Emmy 85 times. He has never won.” “No no no no no. Lorne, look at me. It’s really hard to see he’s looking,” Kristen said to Lorne sitting in the audience. “You do have value, you are worthy, and you are not and have never been a loser — even though you have lost a lot.” “Each and every one of those 85 times you lost, you were robbed,” Maya agreed, as Bowen added, “It gets better. Just because SNL didn’t work, doesn’t mean your next idea won’t. Keep dreaming.” Seth then chimed to correct them, pointing out that Lorne has won 21 times while SNL has won over 200 times. Kristen, Maya, and Bowen then changed their tune, with Kristen saying, “That’s too much.” “I can’t believe you’re complaining about this, Lorne,” Maya added. “Not to be rude, but grow up.” The Emmys, hosted by Schitt’s Creek stars and real-life father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are airing RIGHT NOW on ABC.
