Spain eliminated France from the European Championship to big numbers on Fox.

About 3.2M viewers tuned in for the semifinal match, making it the most-watched Euro semifinal telecast on record in U.S. English-language TV history.

The audience was up 44% from the equivalent Euro 2021 semifinal telecast, which was an Italy-Spain match that drew 2.2M. It’s also a 38% boost from the 2021 semifinal telecast average of 2.3M.

This new record should come as no surprise, considering that soccer coverage has been hot for Fox over the last month between the Euro Championship and Copa America. Through the quarterfinals, the Euro Championship was up 42% versus the 2021 tournament on the network, averaging about 1.5M viewers across 43 matches on Fox and FS1.

Speaking of Copa America, Fox also set a record this weekend for that tournament’s most-watched semi-finals in U.S. English-language TV history, averaging 2M viewers across both matches. That’s a 267% boost from the 2021 Copa America semifinal telecast.

The semifinals were led by Colombia’s win over Uruguay, which delivered 2.1M viewers, which made it the most-watched non-USMNT semifinal telecast in U.S. English-language TV history.

Safe to expect some more knockout numbers for both final matches, which take place on Sunday when Argentina and Colombia go head-to-head for the Copa America title while England and Spain duke it out for the Euro Championship.
