Sridevi Prasad, founder of Shankar Foundation, receives 31st Yudhvir Award

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya presented the 31st Yudhvir Memorial Award to Sridevi Prasad for her work with people with special needs. The award ceremony took place at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Auditorium in Hyderabad. Sridevi Prasad received a citation and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. She was praised for her dedication to providing quality rehabilitation services.

Sridevi Prasad’s journey began at the age of 20 when she first interacted with a special needs child as an assistant teacher. This experience motivated her to pursue further education in psychology to better support children with special needs. She worked as a teacher at Sweekaar Academy for over a decade, focusing on the rehabilitation of children with special needs.

In addition to honoring Sridevi Prasad, a condolence meeting was held for the late Hindi Milap Editor Vinay Vir. Dattatraya expressed his shock at Vinay Vir’s passing and commended Vinay Vir’s wife, Vipma Vir, for allowing the award ceremony to continue despite the tragedy. The event was attended by retired IPS officer and foundation chairperson Aruna Bahuguna, trustee Amer Ali Khan, secretary Vipma Vir, and others.
