Stephen Amell would love to make more episodes of Heels.
Heels was a drama based around the life of a professional wrestler, with Amell playing the starring role. He was joined by an impressive cast, which included CM Punk and AJ Lee also taking supporting roles.
Fans and critics praised the show, giving it an 8.0 rating on IMDB. However, it was cancelled before its third series by Starz, giving little hope for its future.
Heels was picked up by Netflix in April with a view to streaming the original two seasons. However, it looks like Stephen Amell hopes the move can reignite interest in the show and potentially lead to a third season of Heels.
Stephen Amell posted a photo on Facebook of himself locking up with his Heels co-star Alexander Ludwig. He added a caption, confirming that Netflix are releasing all 16 episodes of the show onto their streaming platform on September 15th.
Amell added that he’d “like to make more” of the show. This could be a hint toward a third series if the program does well on Netflix going forward.
“We’re dropping 16 episodes of Heels on @netflix September 15th. I’d like to make more.”
He is not the only person who hopes the show will return for another season. Director Peter Segal thinks they were on the wrong network previously and hopes Netflix’s deal with the WWE will help bring new fans to Heels in the future.
Before a potential Heels reboot takes place, Amell will star in the Suits spinoff Suits: LA, which was given a series order at NBC.
