WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin came out of in-ring retirement for an unexpected match at WrestleMania 38 against Kevin Owens, but hasn’t competed ever since. Now, he has addressed possibly squaring off against The Rock at WrestleMania 40.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock engaged in three of the most iconic and storied matches in WrestleMania history. The first of these three matches took place 25 years ago at WrestleMania 15 in Philadelphia.

WrestleMania 40 is scheduled to take place in Philadelphia, and Stone Cold Steve Austin recently mentioned to Sports Illustrated that while he isn’t interested in having a slow-motion match with The Rock at their current ages, Philadelphia would have been a cool location for such about.

I think that would be in slow motion,” said Austin with a laugh. “I don’t know about that, but Philly would be a great place for it to happen. I worked with The Rock at WrestleMania XV, and we rocked the house. I pinned his shoulders to the mat, one-two-three. But I don’t know about that happening now.”

The Texas Rattlesnake is unlikely to step foot inside the squared circle again, but the same cannot be said for The Rock who might compete against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 this year.
