Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has reacted to the invasion of Oyo State Government Secretariat by hooded men.

In his reaction, Igboho distanced himself from the actions of the agitators, some of whom were apprehended by the police. In a statement by his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, he emphasized his opposition to violence and assaults on government property or individuals.

Adeyemo’s statement asserted: “I, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, am not aware of, affiliated with, nor do I endorse the reported incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, where individuals allegedly invaded the state secretariat claiming to take over the state as Yoruba Nation agitators.”

“He explicitly disavows any such actions and advises the general public not to link him with them. Chief Sunday Adeyemo remains steadfast in his commitment to non-violence and condemns attacks on government property or individuals.”

“He urges the public to recognize that attempting to seize government facilities is unlawful and undermines the legitimate aspirations of those peacefully advocating for the Yoruba Nation. His objective continues to be the safeguarding and progress of the Yoruba people through lawful means.”

Additionally, Igboho personally responded, stating: “I was made aware of the attempted hijacking of the Oyo State Assembly complex by some ‘self-acclaimed’ Oodua nation members, and I want to clarify. I am not involved in that.”

“Furthermore, no Oduduwa nation member would dare such an attempt. I urge the state government to thoroughly investigate the matter and identify these impersonators and blackmailers.”
