Swerve Strickland issued a major challenge on AEW Dynamite.
Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page have been feuding for the better part of a year. They clashed at AEW WrestleDream, and they battled in a Texas Death Match at AEW Full Gear. Page set his sights on Strickland upon his return to AEW after Swerve had won the AEW World Championship. He tried to interfere in Strickland’s title match at AEW All In, and the distraction cost Swerve the match and the title.
On the August 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, Page defeated Tomohiro Ishii. Swerve Strickland then confronted him, and they went back and forth in a heated confrontation. Strickland challenged Page to face him in a Steel Cage Match at AEW All Out after Page said that he wanted to face him one-on-one. Page walked away, so the match was not confirmed.
