Saturday football tips

Bet of the Day

Double Chance - Everton or Draw vs Brighton @ 23/20

Brighton head into their home clash with Everton as favourites following three successive victories across all competitions, but all of those wins have come on the road, with their form at The Amex not so impressive.

The Seagulls are without a win in four on their own patch, during which time they have lost to Crystal Palace and drawn with both bottom of the table Southampton and poor travellers Brentford.

Fabian Hurzeler's side appear to struggle against defensive teams and Everton fall into that category, even though they let the shackles off when beating Tottenham last weekend.

That was the Toffees' first win since the return of David Moyes as manager and he will be confident his side can build on that success, especially as they have a good recent record at The Amex, as they are unbeaten in four at the venue, a run that includes a 5-1 success in May 2023.

While Everton may struggle to match those heroics on Saturday, they are capable of, at the very least, avoiding defeat.

Special of the Day

Joao Gomes 4+ fouls for Wolves vs Arsenal @ 6/4

No player has committed more fouls in the Premier League this season than Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, who took his tally to 49 with the four he gave away during Monday's 3-1 loss at Chelsea.

Wolves surrendered plenty of possession at Stamford Bridge and the same could be true when Arsenal head to Molineux, which means Gomes will have to do plenty of chasing in an attempt to put out fires.

The Brazilian gave away three fouls when these two sides met at the Emirates Stadium earlier in the season - a match that ended in a 2-0 Arsenal win - and he could go even further on Saturday, conceding a quartet of infringements at least.

Longshot of the Day

Double Chance - Reims or Draw vs Paris Saint-Germain @ 29/10

Paris Saint-Germain boosted their hopes of reaching the knockout phase of the Champions League with their midweek, come-from-behind win over Manchester City, but they still have work to do in that competition ahead of their trip to Stuttgart next week.

That means their weekend clash with Reims at the Parc des Princes, which comes in between their two European fixtures, could be something of a distraction, especially as PSG sit nine points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.

If Luis Enrique's side do take their foot off the gas, then Reims have proven they are capable of upsetting the Parisians, as four of the last five meetings between the two teams have ended all-square.

It finished 1-1 when they met at Reims in September and it was 2-2 when they most recently locked horns in the French capital last season.

Reims certainly appear to be something of a bogey side for PSG and they offer good outside value to avoid defeat in Paris on Saturday.
