The Champions League returns after its winter break on Tuesday with two tasty ties featuring the last two winners of the competition.

For today's tips, we're backing Real Madrid to earn a first-leg lead in Germany while taking the odds on City leaving themselves with some work to do in Manchester.

Bet of the day

Real Madrid to win and Both Teams to Score - 3/1 boosted from 14/5

Real Madrid sent a message to the rest of the Spanish league with their 4-0 win over Girona on Saturday and they will attempt to show they are the team to be feared in the Champions League when they face RB Leipzig at Red Bull Arena.

Jude Bellingham's absence through injury is a blow, but he should be back for the quarter-finals as long as they make it past the German side.

Vinicius Junior, who scored their opener and set two further goals up against Girona, will be the main dangerman for Leipzig to worry about and their defence has been anything but airtight of late.

Marco Rose's men have shipped 10 goals in their last four games and the coach may feel that attack is the best form of defence going into this first leg.

Leipzig have scored exactly two goals in each of their last four games, so they are consistent in that regard.

But Real won all three of their Champions League group stage away games with both teams on the scoresheet and another result like that is potentially on the cards here too.

Special of the day

Georgino Rutter to score in a Leeds win  - 13/8

Leeds make another long trip south to face Swansea on Tuesday night, but Daniel Farke's young team are firing on all cylinders at the moment.

The Whites won their sixth Championship game in a row on Saturday when two goals from Crysencio Summerville helped them ease to a 3-0 success over bottom club Rotherham.

The Swans also picked up a handy three points at Hull to give manager Luke Williams his first league win, but this will probably be a different story if Leeds' attackers maintain their excellent form.

Georgino Rutter's role in making Leeds tick should not be ignored - the Frenchman assisted Summerville's first on Saturday and his ability to unlock defences should set Leeds on the road to victory in South Wales.

Although he has only scored five league goals this season, four of those have come away from Elland Road and he is probably due another this week.

Long shot of the day

FC Copenhagen and Manchester City to draw - 9/2

The Champions League holders head to Parken in Copenhagen to take on one of the clubs that helped knock Manchester United out of the competition in the group stage.

They faced the Danish champions, who will be playing their first competitive match since December, in last season's group and drew 0-0 in the away game despite Pep Guardiola picking a strong side.

That night, City began as you would expect. But, after Rodri was denied a goal by VAR, Riyah Mahrez had missed a penalty and Sergio Gomez had been sent off inside 30 minutes, there was little between the sides.

This long shot will not be to everyone's taste given how much momentum City have established during their 10-game winning run, but they have drawn their last five Champions League knockout away legs in 90 minutes.
