That Fast? WWE Already Announces Plans To Shorten SmackDown Back To Two Hours

Back down. There have been a variety of changes taking place on WWE television in recent months and some of those changes have been quite the major shakeups. It can be a big deal when one of the shows are sent into a new direction, which is what we saw just a few days ago. However, it does not seem like that change is going to be permanent, as another change has already been announced.

Last week’s SmackDown marked the show’s expansion to three hours after being a two hour show since its inception in 1999. However, during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, WWE CCO Triple H announced that while the show is expected to return to two hours, though he did not say when. Previous reports had stated that the change would take place in June, though this has not been confirmed.

Opinion: This is an interesting way to go, as WWE is not often in the habit of reversing concepts that have not been around for very long. That being said, I could go for having the show back at two hours, just for the sake of not having so much content every week. There does come a point of having too much going on in the span of a week and WWE might be reaching that point here.
