TNA just added a huge tag team match to its Genesis pay-per-view.
TNA Genesis will take place in Dallas, Texas on January 11. This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT! saw two huge title matches announced for the show. One of them was for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, as The Hardys will be defending their gold against The Rascalz.
On iMPACT, both Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel challenged The Hardys to a title match. Trey Miguel mentioned that the tag team has been on fire as of late and are set to make history again. Zachary Wentz then reminisced on his childhood days and how he grew up watching The Hardys.
“History? You want to talk about history? Then let’s talk about it. Because when you are talking about the TNA World Tag Team Championships, you are talking about the best of the best. And right now those title are being held by absolute legends bro. The dream tag team that we grew up watching. And I am being honest with you bro, I remember being a kid, doing Jeff Hardy Swanton Bombs in my mom’s living rooms, messing up the furniture. I mean, everybody did that didn’t they?” Zachary Wentz said.
Miguel then laid out the challenge.
“But right now, we are making the dreams come true. We are riding this high. I know the fans, it’s like they have been in the tree house with us. But I got a question for you. What you guys think about The Rascalz versus The Hardys for those TNA Tag Team Championships?” Trey Miguel said.
The Hardys accept the challenge
As Miguel was speaking both Matt and Jeff Hardy showed up. Matt Hardy appreciated the work The Rascalz have been doing in TNA and agreed to put the Tag Team Titles on the line against The Rascalz. The match will take place at TNA Genesis.
“Gentlemen, Zack, Trey. I got to tell you man, the two of you certainly remind us of us. I mean, look at you two. You are young, you’re talented, you’re good-looking, you’re invincible, you’re hungry, you’re extreme, and you two are fearless. And considering you two do remind us of ourselves, you know there’s a really big show coming up for TNA on January the 19th in Dallas, Texas. It is called Genesis.
“And I think a big show like that deserves a big match like this. Hardys versus Rascalz first time ever. But I got to warn you guys of this, The Hardy Train as the TNA World Tag Team Champions is moving full steam ahead and nothing stops the Hardy Train. Nothing. But, if you guys did pull off the win and you won the tag team titles from us, then you could be proud of yourselves because you could be defeating the G.O.A.T.s. It means the Greatest of All Time in tag teams,” Matt said.
Jeff Hardy also seconded the notion.
In addition, the TNA X Division Title will be on the line. The current champion Mosse will defend his championship against Ace Austin.
