The return date to the Spotify Camp Nou is still not confirmed, but all indications suggest that FC Barcelona could be back in action at their iconic stadium on 2 February for the match against Alaves.

This would be after the team completes their Champions League group stage matches at the temporary Montjuïc Stadium, with their last game there being against Atalanta.

While Vice President Elena Fort and Espai Barça’s Director of Operations, Joan Sentelles, shared updates at a recent press conference, no exact date was mentioned. Nonetheless, all signs point towards early February as the likely return time.

What’s the latest with Spotify Camp Nou?

Meanwhile, according to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, the renovation work at Spotify Camp Nou is progressing well.

While the foundation work is still ongoing, particularly with the car park floors and formwork of the third-tier structures, there has been significant visible progress inside the stadium.

The waterproofing of the first and second tiers is nearly complete. Some images, shared by Instagram users who regularly follow and document the construction, show the installation of seat supports in the Gol Nord section.

In fact, a few seats have already been installed, signalling that the project is steadily moving forward.

When will the work be complete?

It must be noted that Fort mentioned the club aims to finish the entire renovation by the end of 2024. However, given the financial losses caused by temporarily relocating to Montjuïc, this deadline seems overly ambitious.

A more realistic target for completing the renovation now appears to be the summer of 2026.

While this extended timeline might be a disappointment for some fans, the progress being made gives hope that the stadium will eventually return better than ever, ready to welcome the team and supporters back to their beloved home.
