The Netherlands successfully enter Euro 2024 by defeating Poland on the first day of Group D.

This Sunday took place in a meeting between Poland and the Netherlands as part of the first day of Group D in this Euro 2024. A duel which promised a lot, certainly not (yet) in terms of stakes, but especially in terms of game in view of the individuals present in the two teams facing each other.

Knowing all the same that for this entry into contention, the Poles had to do without the services of their captain Robert Lewandowski. And it was Buksa, his replacement, who opened the scoring a quarter of an hour into the game following a corner expertly kicked by Zielinski. A quarter of an hour later, Aké fed Gakpo. The latter pricked in the axis and fired a slightly deflected cannonball to deceive Szczesny and equalize. 1-1, the score at rest.

But ten minutes from time, Weghorst was going to save his team. The slender Batavian scorer dared a left shot to the ground which was going to lodge in Szczesny’s cage. 2-1, final score, entrance exam passed for the Batavians in this Euro, they who temporarily take the lead in group D.
