The Rock made another pitch to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the February 28th episode of WWE SmackDown.
“The Final Boss” returned to WWE programming on the February 21st episode of WWE SmackDown. He told Rhodes that he wanted him to be his champion, and he wanted his soul. He also said that he expected an answer at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Rhodes came to the ring on the February 28th episode of WWE SmackDown, and Michael Cole revealed that The Rock got him a custom truck with his “American Nightmare” logo on it. The Rock then appeared on the video screen and sent a message to Rhodes. He said that Rhodes would make the decision of a lifetime at WWE Elimination Chamber. He also said that they had been talking all week, and he knew that Rhodes would do the right thing.
After highlighting the custom truck, The Rock said that he would make all of Rhodes’ dreams come true. He brought up Rhodes’ family and said he would make all their dreams come true. He said that Rhodes would give him his soul.
The Rock then revealed that he had a custom weight belt with “Cody’s soul” on it. The belt had the day that Dusty Rhodes died written on it as well. The Rock said that Dusty was one of his heroes, and that night broke his heart. He told Rhodes not to break his heart again. The Rock said that at WWE Elimination Chamber, he would tell Rhodes to embrace him as his champion. He ended the message by telling Rhodes that he loved him.
