The time for sitting back and relaxing has come and gone as Season 3 of The White Lotus has unfolded with all episodes barring the much-anticipated finale, the eighth installment of the Thailand-set third season, which will be 90 minutes long.

Deadline has reached out to HBO for comment about the final episode’s length.

Season 3 of Mike White’s prestige drama HBO tentpole series will set the record for the most episodes, as the first season had six and the second, seven. The Season 3 finale will also be the show’s longest episode to date across it’s multiple installments.

Season 2’s finale also ran over an hour with an additional almost 20 minutes (a total runtime of 78 minutes). The end of Season 3 of the tropical vacation drama series comes on the heel of the conclusion of Apple TV+’s Severance Season 2, which also had a supersized finale that was 77 minutes long.

Pretty much all of the storylines of the ensemble cast have yet to see their full, and what is sure to be explosive, conclusion. The Ratliff family is on the brink of financial ruin as Jason Isaacs’ patriarch Timothy holds out from telling his wife or children and instead gulps down Victoria’s (Parker Posey) lorazepam to dissociate from reality. Rick confronted his father’s killer (Scott Glenn) in episode seven, titled “Killer Instincts,” but he couldn’t follow through with any acts of violence towards Jim Hollinger, wife of Sritala (Lek Patravadi).

Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) stays the night at the Buddhist monastery with Lochlan (Sam Nivola) who voices his thought that he might like to stay there with her for a gap year ahead of college. Piper’s reaction was not one of excitement. Meanwhile, their brother Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) attends the party Greg (Jon Gries) and Chloe (Charlotte LeBon) host at their house up at the top of the hill, with Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood).

Greg invited Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) to the party as well, where he slyly suggested he could give her $100,000 to start her own spa like his late wife (whom he had a hand in killing) Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge) would have wanted. But of course, the hush money comes with strings, as Greg suggests that Tanya would also want him to live out the rest of his life in peace. Belinda’s son Zion (Nicholas Duvernay) attends the party as well, but Belinda begs him to flee before he can eat.

The tension between the three friends Jaclyn Lemon (Michelle Monahan), Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Laurie (Carrie Coon) is so thick it can be cut with a knife as Laurie confronted Jaclyn about sleeping with Valentin (Arnas Fedaravičius) and went to the Thai fight night alone with Valentin and his two Russian friends Vlad and Aleksei. She made a startling discovery while spending the night with Aleksei, seeing the snake jewelry and more that Chelsea was eyeing in the hotel giftshop when the robbery occurred.

Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) clocked that the trio were behind the armed robbery earlier while he attended the fight with Mook (Lalisa Manobal).
