Barcelona will not have a lot of retention privilege heading into the 2024 summer transfer window. The club will be obligated to sell players to return to the 1:1 FFP quota in La Liga, and also rebuild their squad without compromising quality.

The likes of Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, and Jules Kounde have all been linked with an exit, with Barcelona hoping to stick with a heavy valuation for most of them.

The Catalans are hoping to raise more than €100 million through player sales this window, with the intention to sign a holding midfielder, a left-winger, and if there is money left, possibly a central midfielder.

Despite their financial woes, though, SER report that there are three ‘untouchable’ players at Barcelona for sporting director Deco. These are namely Gavi, Pedri, and Araujo.

Gavi

Barcelona have only recently armoured Gavi with a contract extension that runs until 2026 and a €1 billion release clause, with no intention of letting him leave anytime soon.

The midfielder has been a revelation for Barcelona since his arrival into he first-team, mixing a ton of pace-and-power with La Masia’s technical prowess, making him an undisputed starter for any coach.

PSG have the 19-year-old on their radar, but there is little to no chance that he will leave the Camp Nou as early as this summer, despite the risk of a post-ACL tear halt.

Pedri

Pedri has been far from his best most of this season, but that is partly due to the multiple injuries he has suffered.

And while that has been the case for the most of the last couple of years, Barcelona are hoping to recover the best version of him soon enough by altering his training and playing-time.

Pedri signed an extension with Barcelona in 2021 up until 2026, with a €1 billion release clause in place.

Araujo

Barça are very happy with Ronald Araujo as one of the captains of the squad and inarguably consistently the best centre-back at the club since his signing.

There is a ton of interest for him from top clubs in Europe, especially Bayern Munich, who are ready to shell out as much as €100 million for his signing.

However, Barcelona have already communicated to his agents that they have no intention to sell him. Not as early as this summer, at the very least.
