The self-proclaimed interim government of Yoruba Nation has issued a warning, stating that President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde will face the consequences if activists arrested for hoisting Yoruba Nation flags at the Oyo State Secretariat are not released.
Victor Mobolaji Adewale, the deputy coordinator of Yoruba Nation agitators and deputy interim president, delivered the threat.
Adewale, who resides in Sweden and serves as the European Coordinator of the Oodua Progressive Union (OPU), holds the title of Akingbayi Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland since 2020, bestowed by Gani Adams.
He warned that if Makinde persists in holding their members captive, it will lead to severe consequences for Tinubu, potentially affecting his presidential ambitions.
Adewale emphasized, “If Seyi Makinde refuses to release our men that were arrested and keeps them in cells, he is inviting war, and Bola Tinubu will be greatly affected. The extent of our retaliation will be beyond comprehension.”
“I am mandated to issue this final warning: Seyi Makinde must release our warriors arrested at the secretariat in Ibadan. He must release them immediately, return them to the secretariat, and let them continue their activities there while we do ours.”
“If he persists in holding them, wherever you are… Tinubu, you will face consequences. Our proclamation letters are in their possession. Tinubu, Tunji Disu, Makinde, all Amotekun forces in Yorubaland, and the police, you must release those individuals immediately. War is imminent, and I urge Yoruba people to protest. Whether accepted or not, we have an interim government for Yoruba Nation.”
