He’s done. While WWE and AEW get most of the attention in the wrestling world, there are several other promotions, some of which have been around for a very long time. Those promotions have some incredibly talented people working for them, including some whose main work takes place behind the scenes. However, one of the bigger names is now out of work.

Anthem Sports & Entertainment, TNA Wrestling’s parent company, has announced via 411mania.com that President Scott D’Amore has been terminated from his contract with the company. Anthem’s Anthony Cicione has replaced D’Amore in the role. There was no official reason given for D’Amore’s departure. According to PWInsider.com, a talent meeting was held to discuss D’Amore, which was described as “stepping down” in the meeting but “termination” in the official announcement.
One of the wrestlers said that this “wasn’t the way to start off” as D’Amore was popular in the locker room. Wrestlers were said to be angry, with veterans having to calm things down. The majority of the company’s creative team is still present, though it is not clear who will take D’Amore’s place. One wrestler is said to believe that Anthem made the change due to TNA feeling too “D’Amore centric” rather than focused on Anthem, though this was not stated during the meeting. Several wrestlers, including some no longer with TNA, have commented on his departure:
Thank you coach.

The incredibly painstaking, tedious and difficult work that @ScottDAmore has put in to bring @ThisIsTNA to this very exciting moment in time, cannot be understated. We all, wrestlers and fans alike, owe him a debt of gratitude. ?

I'm just going to say it. Without @ScottDAmore Impact/TNA would be a video library probably owned by WWE. I saw him strip that thing down to the studs and rebuild it on a less than skeleton budget to where it stands today which is ready to take off. Hope it survives-Massive loss!
