It’s really not that weird when you think about it, Tommaso Ciampa.

Chris Van Vliet shared a quote from his new interview with Ronda Rousey, who talked about how different WWE is now that Vince McMahon is gone. The caption was paired with a photo of Rousey lifting Triple H on her shoulders in a fireman’s carry at WrestleMania 34.

Tommaso Ciampa saw the post and decided to have some fun with it. Ciampa asked if it was strange that he saw the post and thought Triple H was him, playing up on Johnny Gargano and his recent “Re-Generation X” gimmick.

“Is it weird that I thought that was me in the photo for a second,” Ciampa wrote on Instagram. “And then I wondered when I wrestled Ronda ?‍♂️”

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard spoke with Ciampa about his on-air aesthetic and how action figures might possibly influence it. Ciampa pointed out that his God Of War attire from NXT Halloween Havoc 2021 was picked for that reason, but a figure has yet to be produced.

“I made the God of War attire for that. Yet to get an action figure on it! I really want one. Yeah, so you want to be like – Johnny [Gargano] always calls it ‘toyetic’ or something – he’s probably better at it than I am,” Ciampa explained. “You think about it, especially for the big ones. You want to have memorable outfits. Macho man style, [Ultimate] Warrior style. Rey [Mysterio] is great at that. Shawn [Michaels] was great at that.”

Ciampa also said he and Gargano picked DX-themed gear for WrestleMania 40. He noted that it made sense because of their relationship with Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
