Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, advising him not to interfere with Kano state politics.

Galadima shared his concerns during an interview with Arise News on Monday night.

“I want to tell the Federal Government, including my friend, President Bola Tinubu, that he should be mindful of Kano politics; it will destroy his presidency,” Galadima stated. He explained that some influential politicians and wealthy individuals from Kano had approached President Tinubu, urging him to intervene in the legal dispute between Kano Governor Abba Yusuf and the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate from the last election, Nasiru Gawuna.

Galadima warned of potential unrest, saying, “If Boko Haram can hold the Nigerian nation to ransom for the last 13 to 14 years, they should be careful with Kano.” He emphasized his deep understanding of Kano politics, recounting his experience as a youth leader during the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) era. “They never agree on any issue, and I have an inherent knowledge of how we deal with the issue of Kano politics during the NPN when I was the youth leader.”

Addressing the recent political maneuvers, Galadima added, “I know some very powerful politicians in Kano, including some rich men who came to meet the president, that they should remove Abba Yusuf and nothing will happen. The man I know should be smarter than what he is by telling them that fine, nothing will happen, and ask them how did it happen that you didn’t win the election in the first place.”

Galadima concluded his remarks by stressing the seriousness of his warning, “We have come of age in Kano, and I am not threatening anyone. That is all I can say.”
