Lucas Bergvall has been a name in focus as we approach the transfer deadline day.

The youngster has been courted by some of the top European clubs, including FC Barcelona. The player had even visited the city to take a look around Ciutat Esportiva and the club’s facilities.

After having dinner with Deco and his family, it was believed that Bergvall was only one step away from signing for Barça. However, shortly after his trip to Barcelona, the youngster flew to London.

Tottenham going all out for Bergvall

According to Gerard Romero, it appears Lucas Bergvall is yet to make a decision on his future.

After his trip to London, Tottenham Hotspur will now go all out to sign the young midfielder. The English club are pressing hard for the player and do have the economic capacity to seal the move before the January transfer window slams to a shut.

After a relatively impressive start under new manager Ange Postecoglou, Spurs are looking to shore up their ranks in the middle of the park.

Although the likes of Pape Matarr Sarr, James Maddison, and Yves Bissouma have been constant features in the starting eleven, the club do require a proper alternative. That is where Bergvall comes into the fray.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Spurs are relentlessly calling Bergvall and his camp to convince him to join them and have made an important proposal for him.

What’s next for Barcelona?

Tottenham’s entry into the equation does make things complicated for Barcelona, as far as their pursuit of Bergvall is concerned.

However, the player and his agents are aware of the fact that the Catalans seek a decision quickly, which means the coming hours could be crucial.

Bergvall, for his part, is far more likely to earn a quick breakthrough at Barça than at Tottenham.

Not to mention, the Blaugrana reportedly have an agreement in place with Djurgarden as well, meaning only the player’s nod could be enough to finalise this deal.
