The search for Xavi’s successor has given rise to an abundance of names being linked with the managerial position at FC Barcelona.

Among the many nominees, one intriguing candidate stands out most notably: Hansi Flick.

Since being fired from the German national team in September of last year, Flick continues searching for better pastures, with reports emerging that the Barcelona job particularly appeals to him.

Indeed, according to Alfredo Martínez, Flick’s entourage reports that the German coach is incredibly excited about the possibility of coaching Barça.

In addition to pre-emptively learning Spanish, Flick is actively looking for assistants who speak Spanish and German to ensure efficient communication and integration within the team.

In fact, two names have surfaced as possible partners in this endeavor: Oscar Corrochano and Cristian Fiel, the Nurnberg coach.

While there is a long way to go before the season reaches its conclusion, Flick is seemingly in no mood to waste time. And the inclusion of the aforementioned names highlights the treble winner’s desire to assemble a cohesive coaching staff.

Although his most recent tenure with the German national team fell short of expectations, the 58-year-old’s success with Bayern Munich pays testament to his coaching pedigree and elite mentality.

The German directed the Bavarians to three titles in his debut season at the club: the FIFA Club World Cup, the DFB Super Cup, and the Bundesliga. A few months later, he led them to the UEFA Champions League, the DFB Super Cup, and the FIFA DFB Pokal.

In spite of the Catalans’ financial troubles, ever-rising expectations, and intense media pressure, the opportunity to coach a club boasting such a talented crop of players often eclipses these concerns.

This sentiment is especially exemplified by Flick’s overwhelming enthusiasm to spearhead the Blaugrana project.

However, Barcelona will continue to be wary of any other potential candidates, with ample time left before they are necessitated to name Xavi’s heir.
