NXT Champion Trick Williams says he is sick of being disrespected.

Williams got into a heated confrontation with both Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe on the December 10 episode of WWE NXT. The champion seemed more aggressive than fans had come to expect.

Speaking with Bully Ray on Busted Open After Dark, Trick Williams commented on his new mindset.

“I’m sick of being disrespected,” Williams said. “I came into this business, and they tell me to shake everybody’s hand. They tell me pay your dues, they tell me to show respect. Then the minute you shake everybody’s hand, the minute you’re nice and you got a smile on your face, they think that you’re soft and they can walk straight off you.

“Don’t get it twisted. I’m a grown-ass man, and I’ve been through a lot to get here. People don’t respect my journey, and I don’t understand that. But I have no problem lining up against any man and showing them what I’m about. Win, lose, or draw, it’s not about that. I’m gonna stand up for what I believe.”

Williams then went on to note that doubt fueled him, as it pushed him to keep shining.

At NXT New Year’s Evil, Trick Williams will defend his title against Oba Femi.
