WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus engaged in an unexpected and extended program against Becky Lynch earlier last year, surprising fans. Although absent for a few months now, Stratus is contemplating how her final match would unfold, leaving fans intrigued about the potential scenario.
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ feud took over WWE television for several months and it ended at WWE Payback, where they faced off against each other in steel cage match. Stratus would lose the match, which ended up being the last match of her run with the company so far.
Trish Stratus, who has expressed her willingness for another comeback, reiterated her thoughts on the prospect of a final match. During an interview with Gorilla Position, she contemplated the idea and wondered about the possible scenario for her ultimate wrestling bout.
Stratus considered the possibility of a final match in her hometown of Toronto, especially with Money in the Bank hosting its 2024 installment there. Stratus pondered winning the Women’s Title, continuing her unfinished story with Zoey Stark, and expressed interest in a matchup with WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley due to their dynamic size difference.
”You’re asking me to book my own stuff right now. There’s this thing about like, what if you put it out there — you know how sometimes, you’re not supposed to talk about things, you don’t jinx it… Oh gosh, I don’t know… Look, I’ve had my fun in Canada. I’ve had my hometown fun in Canada for sure. Would I welcome another match in Toronto? Absolutely. For like, perhaps the final one? Yeah. We had a retirement match. Is this the post-retirement, retirement match? (She laughed) Maybe, in Toronto. I mean it is coming up, Toronto is coming up. I mean, hey, could I become an eight-time champion?”
”It’s another thing to put on — I don’t know. Maybe. Do I have an unfinished story with Zoey (Stark)? I sure do. So there’s a lot of things. There’s a lot of talent that I look at too that I’m like, I would love to get in the ring with, let’s say, Rhea Ripley for example… So people, when they meet me, they’re like, ‘Oh my God, you’re so small.’ This is part of my thing, right? I’m just little Trish Stratus but you know, when we saw that match with Raquel (Rodriguez), that’s what I love. I love playing up to that, right?”
While unsure about the specifics, Stratus playfully entertained the idea, emphasizing the fan-driven aspect by asking who they would want to see her face in a potential return.
”I love playing against the big wrestler and that’s kind of fun for me. So that’s something me and Jazz had, me and Victoria had and so I think me and Rhea Ripley could be a very interesting story so, I’m just putting it out there. I don’t know the answer. But it’s funny, when I meet fans, they’re like, ‘Could you come back?’ You know what I always do? I turn over to them, I go, ‘Who do you want to see me face?’‘
Trish Stratus also previously expressed her desire to win an 8th Women’s Title. Only time will tell whether WWE will have something significant planned for Stratus, should she make her return this year for a retirement.
