Trish Stratus considers a WWE WrestleMania match against Lita.
While their paths have crossed on numerous occasions, there is one scenario that has famously eluded WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita — a one-on-one match at WrestleMania. In years past, Stratus and Lita have shared the ring in triple threat and tag team matches. As of 2024, though, WWE’s grandest stage has yet to host a singles match between them. During a recent interview with Monopoly Events, Stratus addressed the idea of finally fulfilling that feat.
“That would be fantastic. It would be really great,” Stratus said. “Also, there’s two thoughts. She can get her payback whatever. And [for] that moment, because for a rivalry that spanned decades, literally – to this day, we are still fighting, still at odds. We never had a WrestleMania moment. Isn’t it so crazy to think of? Sometimes we go ‘I can’t believe we didn’t ever have a WrestleMania moment.’ We’ve had triple threats and we’ve been involved, but [never one-on-one]. So I think that would be really cool. Also, wouldn’t it be neat if Trish and Lita were tag team champions? I think it would be cool.”
As Stratus alluded to, last year’s WrestleMania event saw her and Lita positioned in the same corner, as they, alongside Becky Lynch, defeated Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Bayley, and IYO SKY). In the weeks following, Lita was attacked by a mystery assailant on WWE Raw.
With Lita then rendered unable to compete, Stratus stepped up in her place, ready to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with Lynch. However, in a surprise turn of events, Stratus blindsided Lynch, later revealing that she was also responsible for the previous ambush on Lita.
