Tamyra Mensah-Stock made her TV debut on the July 5 episode of WWE NXT Level Up.
Mensah-Stock, competing under the name Tyra Mae Steele, faced Wren Sinclair in a losing effort. The match marked the first time she competed in a televised bout.
Mensah-Stock is an Olympic gold medalist. She won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics in August 2021. In doing so, she became the first Black woman to win a gold medal in wrestling for the United States. Mensah-Stock later won a second world title in 2022. In May 2023, Mensah-Stock signed with WWE. She has competed in a few matches at NXT live events in recent months.
Per Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select), many in NXT have been impressed with how quickly she has taken to wrestling, and she had not been expected to be on television so soon.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Mensah-Stock will debut on NXT TV. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
