Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte has revealed the shortcomings he needs to work on to meet the expectations of his coach Luis Enrique.

Manuel Ugarte started his season promisingly with Paris Saint-Germain. However, coach Luis Enrique expects more from the Uruguayan defensive midfielder, who is still having difficulty establishing himself as an indisputable starter in the Parisian eleven.

To meet his expectations, the Gijon technician encouraged the former Sporting member to improve his ability to create gaps on the pitch. “I think what he asks of me the most and what I’m trying to improve on is exactly what we were talking about, when I have the ball, trying to pass it around, go get the ball where there are a lot of people and to take it to the other side, so that the winger finds himself one against one,” said the native of Montevideo.

Ugarte recognizes that he still has room for improvement. He is nevertheless satisfied with his progress and displays great ambition for the future. “I think I still have to improve a lot,” he said. But I’m also very happy with how I’ve grown and I also have a lot of ambition to continue growing. »
