Uncle Howdy made a powerful return to WWE TV, now leading the Wyatt Sicks group that Bray Wyatt originally formed. During the August 26 episode of WWE RAW, Uncle Howdy faced off in a highly anticipated match against Chad Gable. Following his return to the ring, Uncle Howdy’s sister, Mika Rotunda, wrote an emotional letter reflecting on the significance of the moment and her brother’s journey back to the squared circle.
In the main event of the show, Uncle Howdy made his in-ring return, facing off against Chad Gable. This match took place nearly two years after Howdy was first introduced on WWE TV during Bray Wyatt’s return in 2022. It also marked Bo Dallas’ first WWE match since November 13, 2019, when he competed in a tag-team match that also featured Gable.
In the closing moments of the match, Uncle Howdy successfully dodged a moonsault from Chad Gable and immediately followed up with a Sister Abigail, securing decisive victory and making a triumphant return to the ring.
Bo Dallas’ sister Mika Rotunda took to her Instagram and wrote an emotional letter following his return to the ring. She reflected on the challenges her brother, Taylor (Bo Dallas), faced over the past few years. His first full match in five years came after a difficult journey that included breaking his neck in October 2019, healing at home, dealing with the impact of COVID-19, getting into the best shape of his life, and then being released from WWE in 2021.
Mika revealed the often-overlooked side of the wrestling business—the lows that come with the highs. Despite the setbacks, she expressed immense pride in her brother for his courage and resilience in making a comeback.
The match held deep significance for their family, especially being the last match on the card, the main event of the night. Mika noted the pressure and intensity of the moment, likening it to the legacy of their late brother Windham (Bray Wyatt), who was known for his mastery of wrestling psychology and storytelling.
‘‘Before I talk about the homage. I want to brag on just Taylor for a second here.
Last night was Taylor’s first full match in five years. For those who may have missed the news. Taylor actually broke his neck in October of 2019. He came home to heal. Then Covid hit. Then he got in the best shape of his entire life. And then, he was released in 2021.
This is the side of the business that most people don’t notice or want to talk about. The lows. But to praise people in the raptures of the highs or critique them from the sidewalks outside of arenas.
I’m a lot of emotions for my brothers. But proud will always stand as number one. No matter what. And last night, Taylor did something that most could never muster the courage to do.
Rise again!
For any and all who watched and marveled last night. This was very surreal for my family to watch for a number of reasons.
When you’re the last match on the card you’re the main event that night, and everybody who sits there until the lights come back on is there to roar one last massive time for you.
The intensity of the that roar comes with massive boots to fill. Or to remember. Windham’s. The master of theater of the mind; a true artist.
@bakingjason also went to great lengths to ensure Taylor felt Windham in the ring. For strength and comfort.
He and his amazing wife @sandymimpson made Taylor customized gear, recycled from Windham’s previous matches.
What a beautiful sentiment and amazing match.
Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ..”
Uncle Howdy also paid tribute to Bray Wyatt after RAW this week. Regardless, fans were certainly happy to see Howdy make his in-ring return after so many years, so we’ll have to see how WWE will continue to book him and the rest of the Wyatt Sicks faction in the coming weeks.
