Donny van de Beek has announced his exit from Manchester United on Instagram.
The Dutch international is set to sign for La Liga side Girona in a permanent deal that could rise to €4.5m, with United pocketing €450,000 up front.
In a message to United fans via Instagram, Van de Beek confirmed his exit.
He wrote: “Dear Manchester United family. Today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end. I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years. From the moment we arrived at Manchester United, we felt extremely welcome and we are grateful for that.
“Thank you to everyone at the club for making us feel at home. A special thanks to all the fans that made these years unforgettable. Besides the football, the birth of our two children here ensures that Manchester will always have a special place in our hearts. Good luck to everybody, we’ll meet again.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal could rise to €15m if all bonuses are met, but United also have a sell-on clause.

The move marks the end of Van de Beek’s challenging spell at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek joined United four years ago and failed to secure regular first-team football under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag.
The former Ajax midfielder joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan last season, but they opted not to take up an option to buy him.
Only time will tell if Van de Beek if rediscover his form and fulfil his potential at Girona.
