Congrats to Usher and his new wife, Jennifer Goicoechea! The couple, who have been together since 2019 and share two children, got married on Super Bowl Sunday. It was reported that they obtained a marriage license on February 8. They seemingly confirmed those rumors when they were spotted out on Sunday night wearing all-white attire and gold bands on their ring fingers. People got the scoop that Usher and Jennifer did tie the knot on February 11 in Vegas and this Usher’s mom was their witness. Awwwww.
The 45-year-old Grammy-winning artist and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, 40, tied the knot in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, where the singer performed at Super Bowl LVIII, PEOPLE has confirmed.
The pair exchanged vows at Vegas Weddings’ Terrace Gazebo, an outdoor wedding chapel that seats 30 guests. Usher’s mother Jonetta Patton was the couple’s witness, according to the marriage certificate.
“We can confirm that Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family,” a representative for the singer told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
“They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes.”
After the big game, the pair stepped out together in Las Vegas, and Usher was photographed wearing a gold band on his left ring finger. Goicoechea was dressed in an all-white pantsuit featuring an off-the-shoulder, tie-waist jacket and wide-leg pants, while Usher wore a white floor-sweeping fur coat over his black tuxedo.
Heyyyy, good for them. It was a big weekend for Mr. Usher Terry Raymond IV! I think it’s pretty neat that they’ll always associate their anniversary with his kick-ass half-time show. While it’s not known whether they got married before or after Usher’s super fun half-time performance (this elder Millennial re-lived her youth the entire time), I’m cracking myself up imaging them sneaking off during a commercial break or leaving when the 4th quarter started to do their thang, only to come back as regulation time ended and still be there for the big ending. Either way, a Super Bowl half-time show and after-party is one hell of a reception and honeymoon. Congrats again to the happy couple.
