Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes lost his temper as the referee somehow failed to spot a clear foul against him.

The Portuguese is captaining the Red Devils as usual in their FA Cup third-round contest against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. He’s playing as an attacking midfielder alongside Alejandro Garnacho in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.

The first half turned out to be a forgettable affair, with a few chances between the two sides. Gabriel Martinelli thought he had given the Gunners the lead, but his strike was ruled out for offside. Therefore the first half ended goalless.

Nevertheless, Fernandes was left livid after being denied a close-range freekick in the final minutes before the half-time whistle. The 30-year-old received the ball on the edge of the box and was preparing to aim at goal, only for Gabriel Jesus to come clattering from behind, bringing down the United skipper.

Unfortunately for the Brazilian, he appeared to have badly hurt himself in the process, and thus had to be stretched off the pitch.

However, Fernandes (and the Red Devils faithful) were left stunned by the match official who somehow failed to spot the foul and carried on the play much to the dismay of the club captain who could hardly contain his anger.

Bruno lashed out at Andrew Madley while furiously throwing his boot to the ground on two occasions, which earned him a booking.

Man Utd supporters will be hoping for a more serene Fernandes in the second period, as another angry reaction could earn him his fourth sent-off of the season, having seen red on three separate occasions this term already, with the latest coming in the defeat to Wolves.
