Arsenal produced a sensational performance on Sunday as they hammered London rivals West Ham 6-0 and manager Mikel Arteta was “really happy” with one of his players.
Declan Rice moved from West Ham to Arsenal this summer and has had a huge impact at the North London club.
The midfielder played a pivotal role in the Gunners’ win today, producing two assists from set-pieces before scoring an incredible goal from outside of the box.
Arteta was very impressed with Rice’s display and praised the England star after the match.
“I am really happy with him because I know it is a very emotional and special day for him,” the Arsenal boss said about Rice via the Mirror.
“Today he had to focus on the task and what he had to deliver. Set-pieces were one of those. because when we have certain players on the field, he can threaten on the outside of the box probably more than he does inside the box.”
